Whether you're looking for Rat Control through toxins or less harmful methods, Randy's Primal Rat Lure™ and contraceptives can provide solutions to your rat population problems. Many of these questions have a linked video for a more complete picture of our products' effectiveness.
Rat poisons, commonly known as SGARs (Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides) stay in the rats system and are then ingested by owls and other prey animals. As these toxins don't break down, they build up in the prey animals, eventually causing their death, or the death of their offspring. Rat contraceptives however, do not cause any harmful or unintended consequences in the owls. This is because Rat Contraceptives (such as ContraPest™) are scientifically formulated to only be effective on interrupting or breaking the reproduction cycle of rats. And while the contraceptives build up in the rats, becoming more effective over time, the chemicals themselves are not harmful AND completely ineffective in other creatures. (See our video: Rat Poisons vs Rat Contraceptives)
Yes, our rat contraceptive contains Contrapest™ which is broken down by the rats body within several minutes. It does not harm the rat. It is not passed on to another animal that might consume it.
When using Randy's Primal Rat Contraceptive™, you should start seeing less Rats in the daytime after 7 to ten weeks. You will have achieved an 80% population reduction in about 6 to 7 months.
Rats will visit the Good Neighbor Rat Station™ unit from up to several hundred feet away, depending upon conditions in or around your neighborhood or property.
You should place the Good Neighbor Rat Station™ anywhere along the path that you have observed rats traveling. Directly under bird feeders is ideal, but not required.
Yes. That is why we refer to our rat control system as the Good Neighbor program. All of your immediate neighbors will notice a large reduction in the rat population. We hope that because of the decrease in rat numbers and damage, they will stop using rat poison on their property.
Randy's Primal Lure treated seeds will speed up the acceptance of the Contrapest Contraceptive liquid.
We offer an auto refill option for our rat contraceptive and rat lure. The label states that refills should be done on a monthly basis. However, you can place multiple dispensing units in a single unit. This is very helpful in high rat populations. We also offer empty units that you can fill with clean water, as an attractant.
Yes. Rats have a very advanced sense of smell. There may be rats who are very sick and dying from your neighbors rat poison placements. When the dying rats visit your unit they may leave scents that will alarm other rats. A mild soap and water spray or immersion will remove these scent trails. We recommend a simple spray bottle application to the interior of Good Neighbor Rat Staion™ every time you replace the Contrapest™ dispensing bottle.
Rats, and most other mammals naturally move into ecology's that are underpopulated for their species. We will always have some rats living with us. Our rat contraceptive (when used according to guidelines) will help restore the predator-to-prey balance we had before the introduction of S.G.A.R.S ('Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides') around our homes.
Our unit is designed to be very 'Rat Friendly'. The contraceptive liquid might attract some ants or other insects. There will be no effect on these creatures. We recommend keeping the Good Neighbor Rat Station™ or the rat diversion box clean to help reduce attracting ants and other insects.
We have no knowledge of bears interacting with our units. However, there is nothing in our units that could harm a bear. But they would most likely destroy the Rat Station ™ in getting to the food.
Yes. If you start our program at least 6 months prior to starting construction..
Yes. It has many advantages for businesses.
